Saba A. Chughtai M.D.
President

Dr. Saba Chughtai is a psychiatrist practicing in Mason, Ohio, and is originally from Lahore, Pakistan. She graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore and did her residency training in psychiatry from the University of Wisconsin.

Dr. Chughtai is an interfaith speaker for the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati and a co-founder of WINCS, a women’s interfaith group that promotes awareness and understanding of different religions and cultures. Dr. Chughtai is also a co-founder of Muslim Mothers Against Violence, an initiative of the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati that emphasizes the role of mothers in promoting peace across all religions and cultural communities.

She is the current president and a founding member of The Association of Pakistani American Ladies for Social Welfare. Dr. Chughtai is very passionate about the empowerment of women through education, and she believes empowering girls with education is the best way to deal with global poverty, gender inequality, and social injustice. Dr. Chughtai is also an avid advocate for the understanding and acceptance of mental illness, and she promotes reducing stigma and discrimination against people with mental illness.

Dr. Chughtai was awarded the Women of Excellence award in 2012 by the West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance for her civic work. She was also awarded the Career Woman of Achievement YWCA award in 2013.

Humaira Aslam
Secretary & Outreach Director

Humaira Aslam is a founding member of PALS and is the current secretary and outreach director. She is a graduate of California State University - Long Beach with a major in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. Ms. Aslam does outreach for PALS and has been instrumental in starting the feminine hygiene (Sehat-e Niswan) project.

Ms. Aslam is also an ardent advocate of compassionate and professional care for the terminally ill and is currently working on introducing hospice care in Lahore Pakistan.

Ms. Aslam lives in Mason, Ohio with her family.
